The Canteen holiday market is a month-long, pop-up market featuring handcrafted goods from Provincetown artisans, hot food and drinks, sweets, gifts, crafts, live music, performances and other events to fill you with warmth and holiday cheer!
Around this time of year when it starts getting dark early -- and cold even earlier -- bright, cheer-filled holiday markets pop up across European countries like France, Germany and Denmark, and increasingly in cities across the United States. The markets offer locals and visitors alike a place to gather, warm up, buy local foods and goods, and celebrate the holiday season.
This holiday tradition has now found a home in Provincetown. This year, the Canteen is hosting the third-annual version of its holiday market. The market will run for five weekends, from the beginning of Holly Folly on Friday, December 1 until the fireworks on the evening of January 1. The market opens at 11 AM and closes between 7 PM and 9 PM, depending on the weather. Through the event, we foster a sense of community, warmth, togetherness, and holiday spirit between everyone who visits. Come grab a cup of hot wine or mulled cider and help us keep the tradition alive!
At this year's market, artisans will include local woodworkers, jewelers, painters, caricature and comic artists, leatherworkers and a candle maker. And don't forget our eco-friendly ice skating rink! Come give it a whirl.
