Vendor/Performer/Event Organizer Application

Are you interested in becoming a vendor, performer or event organizer at The Canteen’s 4th annual Holiday Market?

Fill out this application to get started!

Quite literally, it takes a village to bring the holiday market to life every year. We provide the foundation — the space, the lights, the food — and then we invite others to fill in the rest! What we are looking for:

-Vendors. Everyone will be considered, but we look especially for local crafts people; people making hand-made things; people offering things that folks look for especially during the holidays.

- Performers. Do you want to sing at the market? Play an instrument? Put on a play? Do a reading? We need your talents to make the market an exciting, ever-changing place to visit throughout the month.

- Event Organizers. We are always looking to host diverse events at the holiday market. Past events have included Hanukkah and Kwanzaa celebrations, art talks, story telling and craft demonstrations. (What else could we do? Dance parties? Candle lightings? We’re open to ideas!)

This year, the market will run every Saturday and Sunday from Nov. 24th until Jan. 1st. (That’s a bit different from years past — this year we’re starting one weekend earlier and eliminating Fridays from the schedule.)

The market is open from 11am until 5/6pm.

Vendor booths are 4 feet x 4 feet. You can nail, screw, decorate your booth however you’d like. Some electricity is provided.

Booths are free, we only ask you that you please help decorate and breakdown if you can, and that you do show up for the days you commit to being there.

You do not need to commit to a certain number of days to be a vendor. We do our best to get as many people involved as possible. One note: There will be no indoor areas for vendors this year.

Are you interested in becoming a vendor, performer or event organizer at the Canteen’s fourth annual holiday market?

It literally takes a village to bring the market to life every year. We provide the foundation of the market — the space, electricity, the food — and then we invite the community to fill the space with unique goods, events and music. That’s what makes it a fun, community-centered event.

This year, the market will be open Saturdays and Sundays, from Nov. 24th until Jan. 1st. (There’s two extra days in there for the New Years.) The market opens at 11 am and closes at 5/6pm. (Unlike past years, the market will open one weekend earlier this year to capture the Thanksgiving weekend and will not be open on Fridays as it has in the past.)

We are looking for three categories of participants:

-Vendors: We will have room for around 14-18 vendors per day. Everyone is welcome to apply. We especially like featuring locally handmade goods; local business people; and sellers offering items that are of particular interest to holiday crowds. Booths are 4 feet x 4 feet. You can decorate, nail, screw into the booths. Some electricity is provided. Booths are free, the only thing we ask in return is that you please help decorate the space and/or breakdown after the event and that you do show up on the days you commit to being there for. You do not need to commit to a certain number of days to be considered. There will be no indoor spaces for vending this year.

-Performers: Do you want to sing at the market? Play an instrument? Put on a play? Do a reading? Do a comedy routine? We’d love to provide you with a venue to do your thing. Holiday or winter-themed performances are especially welcome.

-Event organizer: We love providing market guests with a diverse array of events. Past events have included Hanukkah and Kwanzaa celebrations, story telling, art talks, and craft demonstrations. (But what else could we do? Dance parties? We’re open to your ideas!)

Please fill out the form below to get the conversation started. We’re excited to hear from you!
